Ryan’s Pick of the week

With AvX in full swing and the New 52’s last week of the month upon us, I find myself being rather picky this week with my must buy list.

So you are going to buy anything this week make sure you buy Daredevil # 11

The first part of this crossover was my pick two weeks ago and it should come as no surprise that I loved this issue just as much seeing as how it featured the same creative team. I want to applaud Marco Chechetto for successfully putting out not only three issues in one month but three gorgeous issues in three consecutive weeks. Mark Waid’s dialogue is sharp and the pace is great as always including yet another great moment describing motivation this time coming from Daredevil. My only two issues with this book are that not much seemed to change from the start  and apparently S.H.I.E.L.D exists again despite not being addressed in any of the other books. Despite these flaws, this was a fantastic end to an incredible crossover and if you skipped it last time, you really should reconsider.

If You Were to Buy One Book This Week

If there is one thing I like, its new comic books. If there is one thing I love, its a great new comic book. Today I will be sharing my recommendation for a book I truly enjoyed as well as providing an insight as to why I enjoyed it.

My number one pick of the week was Avenging Spider-Man #6 which kicks off a crossover with Daredevil and the Punisher.

Chechetto’s Variant Cover

I will make it no secret that I love superhero comics and that I love a crossover done right and I firmly believe that the “Omega Effect,” is a prime example of this. This book is sharply written by Greg Rucka and Mark Waid who have a history of solid collaborations and is drawn by Marco Chechetto who based on his work within Punisher, is becoming one of my favorite artists.
